As my earliest freelance web and branding design project, I created a complete identity for Minus 1 Heating and Plumbing. This included custom illustrations, carefully chosen typography, and a consistent visual style guide that shaped the brand across different platforms. I also designed and built a mobile-first website using HTML, CSS and JavaScript, making sure it was both accessible and user-friendly. The outcome was a professional yet approachable brand presence that translated seamlessly across digital and print.

This simple palette keeps the brand cohesive while giving the icons character and recognisability.

Service highlights, trust markers like accreditations, and safety messages are given strong visual emphasis, building credibility while keeping the tone approachable. The combination of modern iconography, structured layouts, and subtle colour accents results in a brand presence that feels both reliable and personable
For Minus 1 Heating & Plumbing the typography combines Lalezar for headers with Nunito Sans for body text. This pairing was chosen in close collaboration with the client, who wanted the brand to feel friendly and approachable. Lalezar brings character and warmth to headlines, while Nunito Sans keeps the supporting text clean and highly readable across both desktop and mobile screens.
The website makes accreditation a central part of the brand story, emphasising Gas Safe registration, Heat Geek approval, and partnerships with major boiler manufacturers such as Worcester Bosch, Glow Worm, Ideal, and Vaillant. These trust markers are displayed prominently to reassure customers of both expertise and reliability, while also differentiating the business within a competitive local market.
